WORK EXPERIENCE

EXHIBIT DESIGN
1997- 2001

Founder and Creative Director, exhibit design firm – Design Aid-India.
Each project, undertaken in the course of the four years, was an experiment in incorporating and exploring a new medium of visual expression within the broader scope of spatial exhibit design and installation art.
The work during these years lent formative lessons in team building, vendor networking and management, communication, budget and time management, besides conceptualization, design and production.
All projects were handled on a turn-key/ design-build basis.
Works included two award-winning projects in International trade shows.

A thematic Children’s Play Zone with a miniature castle and caterpillar arches. Project handled pro bono as part of a group of architecture students.

Worked as free-lance field researcher and photographer on the following projects –
‘Borders, Ethnicity and Tradition –A passage to the North-East of India’, an independent research paper by Indrani Baruah for the Department of Architecture, University of Oregon. June – September 2000.
‘Hemis – A Profile’, a study of the impact of tourism on the Hemis Monastery, Ladakh, India, conducted for INTACH, New Delhi. June –August 1997.
G.T. Road – Mapping the history and cultural traditions of North West India along the historic Grand Trunk road that came into existence during the reign of Emperor Sher Shah Suri in the sixteenth century. March 1996 – February 1997.
PUBLISHED RESEARCH PAPER
But the emperor has no clothes!’ - An impressionistic account of the Hemis Gompa festival. A research paper included as part of ‘Hemis - a profile’ - a study conducted for INTACH, New Delhi, India. July 1997.
